Trapped moisture in foam-filled roof voids
Why it happens here
Cockington sits close to the coast, so humidity is high year-round. Foam sprayed between rafters seals the roof void and stops moisture escaping. Over a few winters, condensation builds up behind the foam and starts to affect the timber.
Our approach
We remove the foam in controlled sections, check moisture levels before and after, and restore ventilation by clearing eaves and any blocked vents. Where needed, we treat damp timber and recommend breathable insulation suited to a coastal property.
